Tom Poster Wins Gold Medal at Scottish International Piano Competition

In September 2007, Tom won First Prize in the 8th Scottish International Piano Competition, along with the prize for the best performance of the specially commissioned piece by Judith Weir. Having performed a wide-ranging recital repertoire in the first two rounds, the final saw Tom playing Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under James Loughran at Glasgow City Halls. Tom’s prize included the Frederic Lamond Gold Medal, an extensive list of concert engagements and a Blüthner Grand Piano.
